Law Week a Great Success
In October, the Potter Law Club and other student groups at the UW College of Law hosted Law Week. Law Week offers an opportunity for the legal community, law students and the general public to discuss contemporary issues. Featured speakers throughout the week included Senator Tony Ross of Cheyenne, Representative Kermit Brown of Laramie, Bob Nicholas from the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, Wyoming Circuit Court Judge Curt A. Haws, Wyoming District Court Judges Peter G. Arnold and Jeffrey A. Donnell, Attorney Tom Sansonetti, Tom Troxel of the Intermountain Forest Association, Lisa Dardy McGee of the Wyoming Outdoor Council, Mary Peterson of the USDA Forest Service, Brigita Krisjansons of the Wyoming Public Defender’s Office, Albany County Prosecutor Richard Bohling and Attorney Mary Parsons.
The week ended with the annual Trelease Dinner. The keynote speaker at the dinner was Wyoming State Treasurer Joe Meyer.
Students also participated in the annual chili
cook-off and the Chili Bowl, a football game between second-year and third-year
law students. Third-year law student Darci Arsene reports that the 3Ls won: "We
had to defend our title from the previous year!"
