What are the requirements for admission to the College of Law? - Top
With limited exceptions, an applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before entering the College of Law. Applicants must also take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) test administered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), no later than February of the year in which they seek to be admitted. Applicants must also register with the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) and have their official college transcripts sent directly to LSDAS. The LSDAS then prepares an analysis of each applicant’s transcripts and a report of the applicant’s LSAT score and forwards this information to the College of Law. Finally, applicants must complete and submit the College of Law application form, no later than March 1st of the year in which they seek to be admitted. Click here to submit a request for a printed copy of the bulletin and application form. Please include your mailing address in your e-mail request. Click here to download the application form. (You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to download and print this document. If you would like to download the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, click here to go to the appropriate web site.)
An applicant from a country other than the United States of America must also arrange to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and have the scores reported directly to the College of Law if English is not the applicant’s first language.
Do I have to submit letters of recommendation? - Top
Applicants may submit up to three (3) letters of recommendation. Letters can be submitted directly to the UW College of Law or through the LSAC Letter of Recommendation Service that is included in your LSDAS subscription. To be considered, letters of recommendation must be received by the application deadline of March 1, whether submitted directly to the College of Law or through the LSAC Letter of Recommendation Service.
What are the deadlines for applications and costs of applying to the College of Law? - Top
The application deadline is March 1. The application fee is $50.00.
What kind of LSAT score and GPA score is required for admission? - Top
The College of Law does not establish a minimum LSAT score or GPA for acceptance, but the LSAT score and GPA are important factors that the Admissions Committee weighs in reaching its admission decisions.
When are admissions decisions made? - Top
The Admissions committee meets on a regular basis commencing late in the fall semester. The majority of decisions are made after the March 1 deadline. Final decisions on a limited pool of applicants may be made in late spring and early summer, as the Admissions Committee receives more complete information about the number of accepted applicants who intend to matriculate and the number of spaces that remain open for the first-year class.
