The External Advisory Committee (EAC) will consist of five well known individuals in their respective fields. Individuals requested to serve on the UW EAC include: Dr. John Nilson; Dr. George Seidel; Dr. Thomas Gorell; Dr. John Sladek and Dr. Sherrilynne Fuller. As summarized below each of these individuals brings special skills to the EAC. This should be an exceptionally strong EAC capable of providing timely and substantive input necessary to ensure that the UW INBRE accomplishes the goals of the program.

EAC Members

Director, School of Molecular Biosciences
Washington State University
Pullman, WA 99164-4660

John Nilson (PhD) has had a distinguished career at Case Western Reserve where he established a national and international reputation in the area of molecular mechanisms responsible for regulating the synthesis and secretion of pituitary gonadotropins (LH and FSH). Recently he relocated to Washington State University where he now holds an endowed chair position and serves as the Director of the School of Molecular Biosciences. Dr. Nilson is the Editor-in-Chief of Molecular Endocrinology and has had an active role in the Endocrine Society and the Society for the Study of Reproduction. Because of Dr. Nilson's background and interests he will be in a position to provide valuable insight and recommendations regarding thematic research in the both "Integrative Physiology and Fertility and Women's Health."
