The Wyoming Humanities Council will soon turn 35! During this time, the council has served as a catalyst for Wyoming's collective imagination, bringing ideas to life for hundreds of organizations and thousands of people. As an independent nonprofit organization, the Wyoming Humanities Council provides programs and grant opportunities to nonprofit organizations and government agencies throughout the Wyoming. The council promotes understanding, appreciation, and cultivation of the humanities through public formats such as community forums, film and reading discussions, teacher institutes, exhibits, and publications. As a partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the council works on national, regional and state levels to generate innovative ideas for Wyoming. Bring us your own ideas from your community!

Humanities disciplines are history, literature, philosophy, folklore, history of the arts or sciences, political science and law, religious studies, languages, anthropology, sociology, or other fields that study human culture and experience. As fields of study, the humanities emphasize the analysis and exchange of ideas rather than the creative expression of the arts or the celebration of a particular event or way of life.

The Wyoming Humanities Council is supported by contributions from individual, corporate, and public entities and receives partial funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
