National Organization Honors UW Pharmacy Dean |

Nov. 2, 2007 -- The American College of Apothecaries presented its 2007 Dean's Award to John Vandel, dean of the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy.
Established in 1992, the award recognizes "outstanding service to community pharmacy practice by a dean of a college or school of pharmacy."
Vandel, who received his B.S. degree at UW (1957), also owns Vandel Drugs in Torrington. He previously was elected honorary president of the American Pharmacists Association, recognizing his lifetime of distinguished public service and contributions to the profession and the organization.
He has received numerous awards, including the Bowl of Hygeia (1982), NABP Distinguished Service Award (1992), Wyoming Pharmacists Association Pharmacist of the Year (1993),UW Distinguished Alumnus (1995) and ACA's Albert E. Rosica, Jr. Memorial Award (1990). Named as dean of the UW School of Pharmacy since 2004, Vandel been published in several professional journals and has made numerous professional presentations throughout his career.
The American College of Apothecaries is an international professional association of pharmacists whose primary mission is to establish and provide programs which assure the delivery of pharmacy and related health care services of the highest quality and to promote private pharmacy practice.
