UW Hosts Cardiovascular Medicine Symposium |

Oct. 25, 2007 -- The latest developments in cardiovascular medicine will be discussed at the Cardiovascular Medicine and Environmental Health Symposium, Friday, Nov. 2, at the University of Wyoming.
Hosted by UW's Center for Cardiovascular Research and Alternative Medicine (C-CRAM), the free symposium will be held from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the School of Pharmacy Building. Morning lectures will be held in Room 293 and afternoon lectures will be in Room 463. Lunch will be provided at 12:15 p.m.

Featured speakers include UW professors from the School of Pharmacy, Division of Kinesiology, and the departments of chemical and petroleum engineering, botany, animal science, and family and consumer sciences. The symposium also features guest speakers from Ohio State University, the University of Colorado, and 4th Military Medical University in Xi'an, China. A question-and-answer session follows each lecture.
The symposium is sponsored by the IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE), which works to provide research opportunities for undergraduates at UW and the state's community colleges through scholarships and technology upgrades, as well as to establish research and mentoring opportunities for faculty through a Visiting Senior Scientist program.
