New Pharmacy Lab

The School of Pharmacy is proud of its completely renovated, equipped, and up-to-date facility in Room 483A, which housed a lab installed and furnished when the building was completed in 1969. Assoc. Profs. Michael Zawada and Mita Das will use the lab to continue their critical research of therapies for treating Parkinson's disease and drug dependence and the role of hypoxia in pulmonary hypertension and cancer. Welcome to the University of Wyoming's College of Health Sciences, the place for students interested in improving and maintaining the physical and social health of others. We offer challenging degree programs in the "helping professions," careers that range from pharmacy to nursing to social work; physical and health education, exercise, and sport sciences; speech, language, and hearing science; and dental hygiene. We also offer minors in health sciences and disability studies and serve as the gateway to schools of medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, and optometry.

While you are with us, you will receive a superior education from our knowledgeable and caring faculty, precise and personal guidance to complete your major from our advising staff, and the special experience of practicums and internships to help you refine and test the skills you will acquire in your lectures and labs. You will also benefit from your work with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, take part in faculty research projects, and become eligible for research grants of your own at Wyoming's only four-year university.

The College of Health Sciences offers

Challenging degree programs in the fields of pharmacy, nursing, medicine, social work, kinesiology and health, communication disorders, and allied health sciences.
An interdisciplinary minor in health sciences, a program with extended opportunities in hospital administration, pre-professional preparation in physical and occupational therapy, biomedical and research technology, and clinical and lab sciences.
A solid base for students who plan to attend medical, dental, or other professional schools.
