Seeking tenure track faculty member with experience in generalist and advanced generalist social work, ethics and social work practice, social welfare policy and social justice, social research, and/or working with families, children, and diverse populations. Requirements: 1) earned doctorate in social work or closely related field; 2) MSW, CSWE-accredited institution or equivalency determined by CSWE; 3) at least 2 years post-MSW practice; and 4) prior research experience. Preference given to applicants with teaching experience in areas listed above. Preference given to applicants with current research projects and publication record. Preference also given for experience teaching using e-delivery and distance instructional methods. Responsibilities: Teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels; maintaining research program; participating in division, college, university, and community activities. Additional responsibilities include student advising, supervising graduate research, conducting field visits, and participating in curriculum development. The Division of Social Work provides MSW and BSW education and has a strong record of research and scholarship including collaborative research with government organizations and other divisions housed in the College of Health Sciences. The division enrolls approximately 120 undergraduate and 60 graduate students. The University of Wyoming is the state's only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education and is a Carnegie research-doctoral extensive institution. The University and the Division of Social Work maintain outreach centers across Wyoming, providing excellent opportunities for community practice, research and development. The MSW Program employs the Outreach Distance Education network to deliver portions of the curriculum statewide. The University and the Division do provide resources for new faculty including start-up funding for new faculty, subject to available resources. The UW/Laramie campus is located amidst the beautiful Rocky Mountains, only 130 miles from Denver and two hours from Steamboat Springs and other outdoor leisure activities. Easy access to nearby mountains provides numerous opportunities for summer and winter activities.
