PURPOSE

 

Supervises and coordinates the athletic equipment room functions including purchase, maintenance, issuance and inventory management of athletic equipment; coordinates department’s fleet operations for transportation of equipment.

 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Supervise and coordinate Athletic Equipment Room operations including equipment purchase, maintenance and repair; size and issue equipment to student athletes ensuring safe and proper fit; manage inventory of athletic equipment and supplies; manage assignment of lockers.

 

Supervise, plan and prepare equipment set-up and take-down for practices, scrimmages and athletic contests.

 

Supervise, schedule and train designated support staff.

 

Coordinate student athlete award program including purchasing, sizing, and inventory of awards within National Collegiate Athletic Association guidelines.

 

Coordinate the maintenance, cleaning and storage of athletic equipment including operation and maintenance of athletic laundry facility.

 

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Coordinate the scheduling and use of the snowmobiles including training and maintenance.

 

Coordinate the athletic bus pool and van operation including scheduling vehicle use and drivers; account for vehicle use and maintenance of vehicles.

 

Coordinate athletic department video function including scheduling of equipment and operators, equipment maintenance and inventory control.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

Warehouse environment; regularly exposed to mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards, dirt, dust, noise, and confined spaces.  Subject to adverse weather conditions occasionally.
