April 16, 2008 -- Books donated by China's ambassador to the United States, Zhou Wenzhong, will be available for use next fall at the University of Wyoming Coe Library.

Zhou donated a collection of 500 books, CDS and DVDs to the university during his visit to Wyoming in August.

The books, which have been inventoried by UW Associate Research Scientist Zhaojie Zhang, are expansive and cover a variety of topics that include Chinese history, culture, language, and cuisine.

"These materials are particularly useful to individuals who are studying Chinese as a foreign language at all levels, and to those who are planning a visit to China," Zhang says.

Materials from this donation, which will be added to the University Libraries' collection, will be available this fall. For more information about this donation, call University Libraries' Dean Maggie Farrell at (307) 766-3279 or e-mail her at Farrell@uwyo.edu.
