Washakie and Northern Arapaho Scholarship Applications Available

Feb. 19, 2007 -- Application deadline is March 1 for Chief Washakie and Northern Arapaho Endowment scholarship awards at the University of Wyoming for the 2007-08 academic year.

Awards of varying amounts will be offered depending on available funds and applicant qualifications. Among criteria used for awarding scholarships are scholastic ability, potential and achievement; involvement in school, community and tribal activities; potential to contribute to the reservation community upon graduation; and financial circumstances.

Applicants are asked to describe their involvement in American Indian activities and to explain how they plan to use their education to benefit the reservation community, and to provide a list of their honors, accomplishments and activities.
