UW Trustees Approve Personnel Items

Sept. 15, 2006 -- University of Wyoming trustees today (Friday) approved the following personnel items:

Faculty Appointments

College of Agriculture
Dannele E. Peck as instructor int the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. Peck recieved a B.S. (2000) in wildlife and fisheries biology and management and an M.S. (2002) in agricultural and applied economics from UW.

Benjamin Rashford as instructor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. Rashford received a B.S. (1999) and an M.S. (2001) in economics from UW, and a Ph.D. (2006) in agricultural and resource economics from Oregon State University.

Brenda M. Alexander as assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science. Alexander received a B.S. (1986), M.S. (1988) and a Ph.D. (1999) degrees at UW.

Kyle Kostelecky as assistant professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Kostelecky received a B.A. (1991) in sociology from Washington State University, Pullman, and an M.S. (1994) and a Ph.D. (1997) in human development and family studies from Iowa State University.

Dale M. Woods as associate professor in the Department of Plant Sciences. Woods received a B.A. (1978) in biology from Rocky Mountain College, Billings, Mont., and a Ph.D. (1984) in plant pathology from the University of California, Davis.

Jay B. Norton as assistant professor in the Department of Renewable Resources. Norton received a B.A. (1985) in geology from the University of Montana, an M.S. (1996) in agronomy and soil science from Iowa State University, and a Ph.D. (2000) in forestry and soil science from the University of Montana.

Ana C. Bratanich, as instructor in the Department of Veterinary Sciences. Bratanich received a D.V.M. (1979) from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a Ph.D. (1992) in veterinary sciences from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Leslie J. Woods as professor in the Department of Veterinary Sciences. Woods received a B.A. (1977) in chemistry from the University of San Diego, a D.V.M. (1982) from the University of California, Davis, and a Ph.D. (1996) in comparative pathology from the University of California.

Thorsten M. Janus as instructor in the Department of Economics and Finance. Janus received a B.A. (2000) in economics from the University of Copenhagen, and an M.A. (2003) and a Ph.D. (2006) both in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Doris C. Bolliger as assistant professor in the Department of Adult Learning and Technology. Bolliger received a B.S. (1991) in management from Park University, an M.A. (1995) in business administration, and a Ph.D. (2002) in education from the University of West Florida.

Edward Janak as assistant professor in the Department of Educational Studies. Janak received a B.A. (1992) in education from the State University of New York, Fredonia, and an M.Ed. (1996) in secondary education and a Ph.D. (2003) in foundations of education from the University of South Carolina.

Robert L. Mayes as professor in the Department of Secondary Education. Mayes received a B.S. (1979) and an M.S. (1981) in mathematics from Emporia State University, and a Ph.D. (1989) in mathematics from Kansas State University.

William J. Medina-Jerez as assistant professor in the Department of Secondary Education. Medina-Jerez received a B.S. (1990) in secondary education from the Universidad de Pamplona, Colombia, and an M.S. (2002) and a Ph.D. (2005) in science education from the University of Iowa.

Tara C. LaForce as assistant professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. LaForce received a B.S. (1999) in mathematics from Colorado State University, and an M.S. (2002) in computational and applied mathematics and a Ph.D. (2005) in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.

Sukky Jun as assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Jun received a B.S. (1988) in physics from Yonsei University, Korea, an M.S. (1992) in materials science and mechanics from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. (1996) in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University, Illinois.

Matthew Bundle as assistant professor in the Division of Kinesiology and Health. Bundle received a B.A. (1996) in biology from Harvard University and a Ph.D. (2005) in biology from the University of Montana.

Tena B. Hoyle as assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health. Hoyle received a B.S. Mona Schatz as professor in the Division of Social Work. Schatz received a B.A. (1976) in sociology from Metropolitan State University, Denver, an M.S.W. (1979) from the University of Denver, and a Ph.D. (1986) in social work from the University of Pennsylvania.

Frederick Deiss as clinical assistant professor in the Family Practice Residency Program - Casper. Deiss received a B.A. (1951) in biology from Pacific Union College and an M.D. (1957) from Loma Linda University.

Pamala D. Larsen as professor in the School of Nursing. Larsen received a B.S. (1969) in nursing from Fort Hays State University, an M.S. (1984) in nursing from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. (1989) in human rehabilitation from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley.

Carol L. Macnee as clinical professor in the School of Nursing. Macnee received a B.S.N. (1973) from the University of Michigan, an M.S.N. (1979) from the University of Virginia, and a Ph.D. (1990) in nursing from the University of Michigan.

Kem P. Krueger as associate professor in the School of Pharmacy. Krueger received a Pharm.D. (1993) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a Ph.D. (1998) in pharmaceutical science from the University of Arizona.

Amy L. Stump as clinical assistant professor in the School of Pharmacy. Stump received a Pharm.D. (2003) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Ovid A. Plumb was reappointed as the dean of the College of Engineering.
