History Department Scholarships

History degree students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to apply.

To be considered students must submit a completed application, a resume, a written essay (from any History course), and a personal statement, up to 250 words, describing your interest in history and your future career plans.

Sylvester Siren Memorial Scholarship - Amount Varies

Available to History majors.

Created by the Siren family to honor Sylvester J. Siren, who graduated from UW in 1930.

William Steckel Undergraduate Scholarship – Four Awards of $500.00 each.

Available to undergraduate History majors.

Made possible by the generosity of Wyoming broadcast pioneer Mr. Jack Rosenthal in honor of one of his favorite history professors.
 

Agnes Mathilde Weregland Memorial History Prize - Amount Varies

Established by Professor Grace Raymond Hebard to honor her friend, Agnes Wergeland, one of the pioneering members of this department.
