(Old Bedlam, Then & Now, Fort

Along with the
B.A. degree program, the Department of History offers a Concentration
in Public History for students who complete 18 semester hours
for the concentration.
**Students should declare their intention to pursue the concentration prior to registering for courses.
You must complete the
following 9 hours:
History 2050 ~ Intro. to Public History
History 4050 ~ Advanced Public History
History 4400 ~ Internship
You must also complete a minimum of 9 hours from among the following specialized areas:
1. Historic Preservation: Includes courses in Architectural History, Art History, American Studies, Political Science, and Geography & Recreation.
2. Archives: Includes courses in History and Library Science.
3. Historical Publishing & Programming: Includes courses in Communication and Journalism, English, Library Science, and History.
4. Museum Studies & Site Management: Includes courses in Anthropology, Geography/Recreation, Economics, Marketing, Management, & Political Science.
