Award Criteria

Nominations for student awards

Student awards are for Outstanding Freshman Male, Outstanding Freshman Female, Outstanding Sophomore, Outstanding Junior, Outstanding Senior, Outstanding Candidate for MS, Outstanding Candidate for PhD..

Seniors have at least 90 credit hours, juniors have 60 or more credit hours, sophomores have 30 or more credit hours, freshman have less than 30 credit hours.  

Nominations for faculty and /or alumni certificates of merit

No more than two certificates of merit may be awarded to faculty, alumni, or other individuals to honor distinct contributions to agriculture in the classroom, through research, administration or other service.  Nominations must be presented in writing with qualifications to the Membership and Awards Committee.

Outstanding Agriculturalist

Residents of Wyoming who have rendered signal service to the cause of agriculture for at least five years within the State of Wyoming are eligible for special recognition.  Nominations should be made in writing to the Membership and Awards Committee.

Special Awards

Individuals that do not fit the above criterion and are deserving of Gamma Sigma Delta recognition may be nominated for special awards.  The Chapter Secretary has a list of such awards.  Nominations should be made in writing to the Membership Awards Committee.
