Research

 

The department maintains a state-of-the-art computer laboratory for cartography, GIS, GPS, and remote sensing education and research. Other research facilities include both soils-geomorphology, and biogeography laboratories.

In addition to faculty and GA office space and a Seminar Room, the department has a large laboratory for teaching physical geography labs. All facilities are located on the second (north), third (north and south) and fourth floors of the A&S Building on the University of Wyoming campus.

Library Resources and other Archive Collection

The campus library has millions of volumes and maintains a map library with close to 140,000 map sheets and 85,000 air photos and remotely sensed images. The library is a full depository for U.S. Government publications, State of Wyoming publications, U.S. National Area Survey Charts, U.S.G.S. maps, and NASA materials.
