Ways to give

Each year, a growing number of individuals, families, corporations, and foundations have found the University of Wyoming deserving of financial investment. The number of UW contributors has risen 55 percent over the past nine years, from 17,280 in 1997 to 26,778 in 2006.

Private giving allows UW to go beyond the basics, to strive for and achieve distinction. Private giving is also an investment in the future of Wyoming's only four-year institution of higher education.

The Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is the only fundraising program of the university that reaches all alumni, friends of UW, students, and parents of students on a yearly basis.

Corporate and Foundation Giving
Universities prosper when individuals, corporations, and foundations financially support their education, research, and outreach missions.

Matching Gifts
Many companies will match employees' charitable giving with a gift of their own to institutions of higher education. Many even match charitable contributions made by retirees or directors.

Planned Giving
The UW Foundation’s gift-planning staff assists donors in integrating charitable gifts into their financial, tax, and estate-planning objectives, maximizing benefits to both donors and the University of Wyoming. Planned gifts provide donors with an immediate tax deduction and other benefits such as life income, continued use of gift property, or elimination of capital gains tax.

Tree and Bench Program
Your gift of a tree, a bench, or a picnic table for the University of Wyoming campus enhances the beauty and versatility of the UW grounds, and is a living and lasting tribute to you as the donor and to the one you honor through your gift.
