Oct. 9, 2008 -- Chi Omega sorority was awarded overall Homecoming Sing champion at the 73rd annual event Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the University of Wyoming.

Other winners were Delta Delta Delta, women's division; Sigma Phi Epsilon, men's division; and  Freshman Senate, co-ed division.

Sponsored by Iron Skull, the junior honorary, several ensembles competed for awards and for the overall championship. Each group chose a selection of songs and added creative lyrics and choreography. The song lyrics focused around the 2008 Homecoming theme, "Rhinestone Cowboys."

Started in 1935, Homecoming Sing is one of UW's longest standing and most popular traditions. Iron Skull was founded in 1920, and its activities have always included promotion of school spirit, especially during Homecoming week.
