
Fall 2009 Teaching and Learning Seminar Series
for Graduate Students
The Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer seminars designed to fulfill the departmental teaching requirement for graduate assistants with first-time teaching responsibilities. All graduate students are welcome and encouraged to attend any of our sessions.
- Many departments require first-time GAs to attend at least three sessions. Check here to see if your department requires attendance.
- Attendance is taken at each session and reported to the department at the end of the semester.
- Registration is required for each seminar. Register here.
- Light meals are provided at all sessions. Your registration assists us with meal planning.
- All sessions are held in Coe 506 on the 5th level of the remodeled Coe library.

Learning styles and personality types can have considerable impact on how effectively a student learns. Patrick will present methods to appeal to a range of student learning styles. |

Nearly all departments at the University of Wyoming identify effective written communication as an important skill. Rick will outline ways to help students progress as writers. |

Current research demonstrates that good reading skills are not easily acquired. April will outline some of this research and suggest ways to help students strengthen their reading skills. |
