How To... Set Up Course Studio as an Online Supplement
 For UW Instructors Using WyoWeb

Last Update:  R. Hill, Instructional Computing Services; 18 July, 2007

All instructors of record will have, on their WyoWeb portal home page, an entry for every course they teach.  Of the three online course platforms available, Course Studio is the default.  For the broadest context, see “How will the new web portal affect my teaching?” under Faculty Help at http://www.uwyo.edu/ctl/Inst_Computing/Faculty_Help.html.  For more detailed instructions, please see http://www.uwyo.edu/ctl/Inst_Computing/Online_courses/CourseStFacHelp.html.

Getting Started

Access to your courses

Log in to WyoWeb, and go to your courses; see instructions in "How will the new web portal affect my teaching?" (reference above) if necessary.

Requesting a course shell

Course Studio will be provided by default, but you can switch to eCompanion, WebCT, or an external website; see the document mentioned above.

Common Feature:  User’s Home Page

All instructors and students see a list of courses with which they are associated in any role.  Enter the course by clicking on its name.

Views of a Course

Your students see the same Course Homepage, except without the Configuration Tools.

Shown to the right is a blank course homepage, as it would appear when the course is scheduled, before the semester starts.
