Ken Bain to be Keynote Speaker for 2006 Colloquium

Ken BainAn interactive discussion featuring Ken Bain will begin the 2006 ECTL Colloquium.  Bain is the founding director of the Center of Teaching Excellence at NYU.  He recently accepted a position as Vice Provost for Instruction, Director of the Teaching and Learning Resource Center, and professor of history at Montclair State University.  His book, What the Best College Teachers Do, won the 2004 Virginia and Warren Stone Prize for an outstanding book on education and society.  Colloquium participants will receive a FREE copy of Bain's book with registration.

UW Faculty Involved in Teaching and Learning Research to Lead Breakout Sessions

The 2006 ECTL colloquium marks the culmination of CLAAS (Connecting Learning Across Academic Settings), a three-year project funded by the US Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE).  CLAAS instructors will join faculty and staff from across campus in sharing their work in the scholarship of teaching and learning.  The following presenters will lead conference breakout sessions:
