Thank you for your interest in the 2006 Consumer Issues Conference. The conference was a great success, with 156 participants from around the region attending. This annual conference is a regional opportunity for those in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska to come together, learn, and engage in potential action. Participants include consumers, educators, government officials and legislators.

 

Allen Fishbein of the Consumer Federation of America keynoted with a very informative presentation on the nature of housing lending. Bill Thomas provided engaging discussion on housing the elderly. Other presentation and discussion topics included housing purchase, rental, public regulation and safety, home repair, eviction, discrimination, predatory lending, homelessness and more.

 

 

Various continuing education credits were available:

• American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences - 7 PDUs
• CLE (Continuing Legal Education) - up to 6.75 hrs. Application
• Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) - 1/2 Credit Unit
