UW Hosts Free Health Fair

Oct. 18, 2007 -- Free health screenings, medication review and prevention information will be available at the first annual University of Wyoming interdisciplinary public health fair Saturday, Nov. 3.

The UW College of Health Sciences will host the free event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Health Sciences Building. Parking will be available along 9th street and in the lot located at 9th and Lewis.

UW students from the WWAMI medical education program, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Nursing, and the Communications Disorders Department, along with others, will provide services.

Blood pressure, auditory, osteoporosis, body fat composition and diabetic screenings will be available, as well as medication review for possible drug interactions and therapeutic duplications. Booths will offer information on a variety of health issues, including poison prevention, immunization education, and fall prevention.
