Adrienne B. Freng |
Academic PositionsUniversity of Wyoming, Department of Criminal Justice, Associate Professor.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Department of Sociology, Instructor.
Research ExperienceMy research experience has included several research projects. I have been involved in several evaluations of National Evaluation of the Gang Resistance Education and Training Program (G.R.E.A.T.). I have also examined the educational experiences, lethal violence, and gangs among American Indian populations. As indicated by my research activities, my primary interest is to examine the intersection between race and crime. This research experience has led to several publications and presentations regarding minority portrayal in media, methodological issues regarding evaluation research, offending for gang and non-gang members, the role of race in gang membership and violence, and American Indian issues.
Other ActivitiesIn addition to my teaching and research, I have also served as the Managing Editor for Justice Quarterly, the publication of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Currently, I am serving as advisor to Alpha Phi Sigma. Beyond academia, I have worked as a counselor in a group home for delinquent boys and have served as a probation officer as part of an internship with Lawrence County, South Dakota. |
