HotBar: It's cute! It's fun! It's spyware!

All of us have received a message showing smiley faces at the bottom, inviting us to add icons to our e-mail. You might want to think carefully before accepting this invitation. This is HotBar and it is a spyware program.

What is spyware? The Fall 2003 edition of ITNews from UW Information Technology has an excellent article about spyware and the effect it has on your computer. Here is an excerpt: "Spyware can install software on your computer without your knowledge, watch everything you do on your machine, and capture personal information. Spyware may be violating your privacy."

HotBar can be uninstalled from your system. Go to http://hotbar.com/downloads/HbUnt.exe to download the uninstall file.
