[pdf version]

A highlighter can be used in Word while reading a document just like using a highlighter marker with a paper document.  Use a light color so the text beneath it can be seen.

  1. Click the Highlight icon Highlight Icon on the Formatting toolbar.
  2. The highlighter cursor displays.  Highlighter cursor
  3. Drag the cursor across the words to be highlighted.

The highlighter color can be changed by clicking the down arrow to the right if the icon.  Select the desired color.
