The clients at the transition housing for the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission have kitchens. They shop with their food stamps and cook for themselves. The three houses have challenged each other to shop more carefully and to prepare healthier food. They use the CNP cookbook, menu planning, and portion control. They're eating lots more whole grains - and best of all, one of the clients has lost 12 pounds. They have saved $117 among the three houses in one month. |
