What You Need To Contribute Data Electronically
- PC or Macintosh capable of running DOS applications
- Microsoft Word 6.0c or Tilia2
- 1.2 Mbytes of free disk space
- 486 or better processor
Follow these steps
- Press the [Data Contribution] button below
- Copy contrib.exe to directory of your choice (66 Kbytes)
- At the DOS prompt, type contrib within chosen directory
contrib.exe is a self-extracting file that will "unzip"
all data contribution files into the directory you are in (1.2 Mbytes).
Be certain to read let.doc (Word 6.0c) or let.txt (text
version) for complete instructions
To contribute data non-electronically
Simply send copies of original datasheets with the following information
- Contact - person to contact if there are questions
- Publication(s) - complete bibliographic citation
- Site Name - unique name by which the site is known
- Sample/Entity Name - "entity" being a core or section, etc.
(e.g., Core 1)
- State/Province
- Latitude and Longitude
- Sample Type - e.g., core, excavation, exposure, buried log, surface
sample?
- Survey Type - e.g., exhaustive, only bryophytes, only conifers, only
select taxa, etc.?
- Quantification Type - e.g., counts/volume sediment, length, relative
abundance, etc.?
- Radiocarbon Data - including dates, stratigraphic location, rejected
dates, age models
The above information is absolutely necessary for data contribution!
