Alcohol Edu for FreshmanATTENTION: This program is to be completed by incoming freshman only! If you recently received a ticket or warning for an alcohol-related violation and were referred to the AWARE program you must report to University Counseling Center in 341 Knight Hall in order to complete preliminary paperwork and to get instructions on how to proceed through the program. This survey is for incoming freshman only and does not count towards a alcohol-related violation. Instructions for completing the AlcoholEDU Program requirement:
Explanation of the program: This year, as part of our comprehensive alcohol education program, the University of Wyoming is asking each member of the first-year class to complete AlcoholEdu for College an online, non-opinionated alcohol education program. Used on over 450 campuses nationwide, this course uses science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. Whether you drink or not, AlcoholEdu for College will empower you to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and will help you learn the skills necessary to reduce or eliminate harm due to alcohol.
Requirements: The course has two sections, both of which must be completed to fulfill this requirement: About 45 days after you complete the Exam and Survey 2, you will receive an email asking you to complete Part 2. The deadline to complete Part 2 is Monday, October 19th, 2009 by midnight. Please note that failure to complete Alcohol Edu for College with a passing grade by the specified deadlines will result in your registration time being bumped to the last day of registration. Instructions: To begin AlcoholEdu for College: 1. Log into your WyoWeb account. Please Note: You will need a Uwyo e-mail address in order to start an account. You get this address after you register for classes. 2. Under the Student Resources tab, you will see an AWARE text box. Click the AlcoholEdu link and follow it to the AlcoholEdu page. You can now begin AlcoholEdu! You do not have to complete it all at one sitting. You can log out at the top right hand corner of the page. You can log back into your account through WyoWeb.
3. You must obtain a grade of 75% or higher to pass. If you do not score a 75% or higher than you must re-take it.
Difficulties: Should you experience any difficulties or require support, you may contact the AWARE program at aware@uwyo.edu. The AlcoholEdu Online Technical Support Center is also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply click on the "Help" button located in the upper right-hand corner of every AlcoholEdu for College screen. If you are unable to access the internet for the time needed to complete the exam, please try your local library for internet access or contact the AWARE program. Only use these instructions if this applies to you.
