Student Welfare Policy
 

Students admitted to the K&HP-AT major must verify compliance with the following student health policies before starting their clinical rotations. Compliance with the policies helps to insure the well fare of both the Athletic Training Student as well as the Patients they may come in contact with


Background Check

  • Students admitted to the K&HP-AT major must verify compliance with the following student health policies before starting their clinical rotations.  Compliance with the policies helps to insure the well fare of both the Athletic Training Student as well as the Patients they may come in contact with.

CPR/First Aid

  • student must produce a copy of their current certification in CPR/First. This information will be part of their Athletic Training Student Portfolio

Hepatitis B Vaccination

  • student must produce a copy of their completed vaccination for HBV.

UW Student Health Immunizations

  • student must produce a copy of their required UW Student Health Immunization record.

Communicable Disease

  • in the event a student contracts a communicable disease they must inform their ACI and Program Director
  • student will then be referred to a UW Student Health MD, a UW Team MD, or there Family MD for care. They cannot continue a clinical rotation until released the MD.

And after being admitted into the professional program in K & HP-AT

Physical Examination

  • student must pass a physical examination given by the UW Team Physicians, the UW Student Health Physicians, or their Family Physician

Athletic Training Technical Standards

  • student must read and sign the release page of the K & HP-AT “Technical Standards Document”
