Prospective Athletic Training Students should be aware of the policies and procedures that affect their participation in the athletic training program. The Athletic Training Education Program is a competitive admission program. The student must meet standards in order to be accepted into the professional program in athletic training.

Once admitted into the professional program the athletic training student must maintain an acceptable academic standards as described by the retention policy. Failure to maintain these academic standards may necessitate a student being suspended from the program and/or being required to retake coursework.

In order to insure the safety of both the athletic training student and the patients that they care for the athletic training student must adhere to policies related to student and patient well being. These policies are described in the student welfare policy and the technical standards.

As the athletic training student progresses through the athletic training major they should be aware of the programs educational goals. Upon completion of the program the student should be able to meet and adhere to the listed goals.
