Bill Lyons received his B.S. in HPER from the University Wyoming and his M.S. degree from the University of Arizona's Graduate Athletic Training Curriculum. He received his NATA-BOC certification in 1974. As the director of the Athletic Training Education Program at the University of Wyoming Bill Lyons teaches in and administrates the JRC-AT Candidacy Athletic Training Program. His current teaching responsibilities include the first year "Prevention and Emergency Management" classes as well as the second year "Evaluations" classes. 

Bill's Athletic Training career started at Ampitheatre High in Tucson. From there he was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Arizona and the Head Athletic Trainer at Fort Hays State University in Hays Kansas. He returned to the University of Wyoming in 1978 where he served as Assistant Athletic Trainer and Head Athletic Trainer until 2001 when he began the Athletic Training Education Program.  

Professionally Bill has been very active within state, regional, and national athletic trainer associations. He has served on the NATA board of Directors, President and Secretary of the RMATA inc, and President of WATA. His is also a member of the RMATA Hall of Fame.
