Retention Policy
 

Students admitted to the K&HP-AT major must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.50. If a student’s cumulative GPA falls below the 2.50 minimum, the following procedures will be enacted:

Cumulative GPA less than 2.00

  • student is placed on academic probation by the University; student is suspended from the K&HP-AT major; student must re-apply for K&HP-AT program admission once cumulative GPA is 2.50 or higher.

Cumulative GPA between 2.00-2.40

  • student is placed on academic probation by the Division of Kinesiology and Health; student is suspended from the K&HP-AT major; student must re-apply for K&HP-AT program admission once cumulative GPA is 2.50 or higher.

Cumulative GPA between 2.40-2.50

  • student is placed on academic probation for one semester by the Division of Kinesiology and Health; student may continue in the K&HP-AT major (i.e., enroll in HLED and KIN 3000 and 4000 level courses); if a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA is achieved by the end of the semester, the student continues unconditionally; if the student does not achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 by the end of the semester, he/she is suspended from the K&HP-AT major.

Athletic Training Core Curriculum

  • student must receive a grade of B or better in each athletic training core course (KIN 1052, 1058, 2057, 2058, 3052, 3058, 4052, and 4058); if the student receives a grade of C, he/she will be required to retake the course the next time it is offered.

Athletic Training Clinicals

  • student must receive a grade of S ( an S correlates to A-B work) in each athletic training clinical course (KIN 2068, 2078, 3068, 3078, 4068, and 4088); if the student receives a grade of U ( correlates to C- F work), he/she will be required to retake the course the next time it is offered.
