Camp Features

If you would like a brochure, have any questions, or would like further information, please call the UW athletic training room at:

This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in Sports Medicine, Pre Physical Therapy, or a career in the health services. The camp is designed to give students the skills to provide basic assessment, care, and treatment of athletic injuries at their high schools. A student with these skills is a great asset to enhance your sports program. Our skilled Certified Athletic Trainers, Team Physicians, and UW Athletic Training Students will provide individualized attention to both the experienced and novice student athletic trainer.

The following are highlights of the WSATA camp:

  • Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) present at every session providing a low student to staff ratio.
  • Daily keynote speakers by current and former UW student athletes.
  • State of the art facilities.
  • CD-ROM of lectures and labs along with athletic training notebook.
  • Lectures- Students receive medical terminology, emergency care, blood borne pathogens and wound care, concussion and head injuries, ankle/foot, shoulder, knee, and heat/cold injuries.
  • Labs- Students perform skills on preventative taping, emergency care, concussions, modalities, kit packing, and injury evaluation.
