Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report: Information Technology (IT) Center (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- Landscaping will continue for about one more week. Detail work on the exterior continues. Commissioning of the Central Machine Room starts this week. Punch list (final items to complete on list after walk through of a project) work continues on all floors and the exterior. Painting of the second floor lounge should be complete this week. The wood paneling, the reception desk, and the cabinets were installed in the main lobby last week. The flooring and the final painting in the main lobby will take place during the next few weeks. The contractor is getting all of the city and state inspections completed. College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date: Fall 2010) -- At the addition, work on the exterior foundation walls and tiered seating in the lecture hall will continue. Cast concrete panels will be installed on the west side. Utility rough-ins will continue on the interior of the addition. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Painting will be completed on the second level of the addition and begin on the third level. Gypsum board installation will start on the fifth level. On the first level, casework and wood trim is scheduled to be installed. On the exterior, glazing and metal panel installation will continue. Work on the drive between the History section and the addition will resume. The ramp and steps are being prepared for construction. The interior first floor and basement framing are under way. College of Law, Moot Court Addition and Renovation -- The site excavation and foundation will continue. The concrete forms will be stripped. The walls will be damp proofed and backfilled. Masonry will start on the north wall. The mechanical/plumbing work will continue in the basement, utility tunnel, and new mechanical room. Work in the locker room will start during the Thanksgiving holiday. The lockers need to be emptied so that they can be removed on Nov. 25. Centennial Complex -- The acceptance testing of the fire alarm and pre-action fire suppression systems is complete. Interior punch list items will continue over the next couple of weeks. The Art Museum Galleries will remain closed through November. Staging for the contractor is on the northeast side of the building. UW Police Facility -- The old UniWyo Credit Union on the corner of 15th and Flint will become the new UW Police Facility. Staging for the contractor is in the north parking lot. Interior framing, electrical, mechanical and plumbing rough-ins continue. Exterior site work will continue this week and will block the south alley at times. The construction completion is scheduled for March 2009. The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: Anthropology Building -- Work continues on the parking lot extension. Disruption to vehicular traffic will be minimal. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Downey/White Hall -- A large area of concrete north of Downey Hall and east of White Hall is being replaced. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around work areas. Half Acre Gym -- Construction continues on the infield heating and cooling system. The sidewalk on the north side of the building is blocked for a construction staging area. Pedestrian traffic has been rerouted to the wide walkway north of the playground. A temporary partition has been erected toward the west end of the infield to protect the public from possible injury while the construction is ongoing. Wyoming Hall -- A remodel of the north wing on the fourth floor is in progress. Please use caution around the work area. The project will be completed by the middle of December. Several spaces in the east section of the Wyoming Hall parking lot have been blocked off for a construction staging area. Fuel Facility -- Work continues on the new fueling facility to the south of CEP (Central Energy Plant). Gibbon Street remains closed to traffic from west of CEP to 19th Street. Access to CEP is from the north off Harney Street. Please watch for concrete trucks and heavy equipment in the area. The south parking lot may be accessed by traveling east, then south around the building. The construction and street closure will continue until project completion.
