Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report: Information Technology (IT) Center (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- The chain link construction fence and safety barriers have been removed, even though the sidewalks are in place the site is closed to the public. King Street and Sorority Row will remain open the majority of the time but traffic may be interrupted for construction activity. Deliveries of computer room equipment by semi truck and trailer are scheduled for Nov. 3 and may block parking and a portion of Sorority Row while unloading. Detail work on the exterior continues. The landscaping material is being brought in. Interior work is sequenced with the second and third floors completing first, then the first floor and basement, then the second floor lounge and the main lobby. The main elevator has been operational for several weeks. The service elevator will be operational in about three weeks. The flooring and handrails are being completed in both stairs. College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date: Fall 2010) -- Utility rough-ins will continue in the original building. Form work will begin for the exterior foundation walls for the addition. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Go here for a list of the new office locations: www.uwyo.edu/news/showrelease.asp?id=23821 ILLC, Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009) -- The addition is progressing along, painting on level one, gypsum board installation on levels 2 and 3, metal wall framing and utility rough-ins on level 4. Little work will be done on the exterior until more material arrives. The final inspection of the third and fourth levels of the original building will be conducted early in the week. Library shelving installation will begin during the week. Exterior site work will continue as long as the weather holds. The contractor will be focusing on the space between the History Section and the new addition. The installation of the stone bases at the light poles will continue. Student Health/Cheney International Center -- The contractor will start demolition in the basement and first floor of Student Health starting on Monday, Nov. 3. Also Nov. 3, the contractor will be setting boulders for the Cheney Plaza. This will have little impact on pedestrian traffic along the southwest side of Prexy's. Exterior stone work on the north entry to the Cheney International Center will continue through the week. College of Law, Moot Court Addition and Renovation -- The site excavation and shoring of the existing building foundation will continue. If the weather continues to be good and there are no unforeseen problems, the schedule is to form the walls of the basement mechanical room, damp proof the exterior foundation walls that are in place, partially backfill on Nov. 3, pour concrete for the additional walls Nov. 4, drill and pour caissons Nov. 5, excavate grade beams Nov. 6, and form grade beams Nov. 7. Truck traffic will continue entering and exiting the site. Centennial Complex -- On Friday, Nov. 14, the Centennial Complex will be closed to test the fire alarm and pre-action fire suppression systems. Staging for the contractor is on the northeast side of the building. The Art Museum galleries will be closed through November. UW Police Facility -- The old UniWyo Credit Union on the corner of 15th and Flint will become the new UW Police Facility. Staging for the contractor is in the north parking lot. Interior framing, electrical and plumbing rough-ins continue. The concrete slabs for the addition are complete. Exterior block walls are being laid this week. The contractor will be blocking the south alley at times for utility tie-ins. The construction completion is scheduled for March 2009. The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: 15th Street -- The road has reopened to normal traffic. Service Building -- Resurfacing the parking lot north of the Service Building has been completed and the lot is now open. Anthropology Building -- Work continues on the parking lot extension. Disruption to vehicular traffic will be minimal. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Downey/White Hall -- A large area of concrete north of Downey Hall and east of White Hall will be replaced starting mid-week. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around work areas. Half Acre Gym -- Construction continues on the infield heating and cooling system. The sidewalk on the north side of the building is blocked for a construction staging area. Pedestrian traffic has been rerouted to the wide walkway north of the playground. A temporary partition has been erected toward the west end of the infield to protect the public from possible injury while the construction is ongoing. Wyoming Hall -- A remodel of the north wing on the fourth floor is in progress. Please use caution around the work area. The project will be completed by the middle of December. Several spaces in the east section of the Wyoming Hall parking lot have been blocked off for a construction staging area. Fuel Facility -- Concrete and paving work continues on the new fueling facility to the south of CEP (Central Energy Plant). Gibbon Street remains closed to traffic from west of CEP to 19th Street. Access to CEP is from the north off Harney Street. Please watch for concrete trucks and heavy equipment in the area. The south parking lot may be accessed by traveling east, then south around the building. The construction and street closure will continue until project completion.
