The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: 15th Street -- The road will remain closed between Lewis and Flint Streets due to city work at the entrance to Greenhill Cemetery. The Lewis Street intersection will remain open, and traffic will be detoured around the closure. Service Building -- The parking lot north of the Service Building remains closed for resurfacing. Paving will begin on Monday. Bradley Street is closed between 15th and 14th Streets. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Anthropology Building -- Work continues on the parking lot extension. Disruption to vehicular traffic will be minimal. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Downey/White Hall -- A large area of concrete north of Downey Hall and east of White Hall will be replaced starting mid-week. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around work areas. Half Acre Gym -- Construction continues on the infield heating and cooling system. The sidewalk on the north side of the building is blocked for a construction staging area. Pedestrian traffic has been rerouted to the wide walkway north of the playground. A temporary partition has been erected toward the west end of the infield to protect the public from possible injury while the construction is ongoing. Wyoming Hall -- A remodel of the north wing on the fourth floor is in progress. Please use caution around the work area. The project will be completed by the middle of December. Several spaces in the east section of the Wyoming Hall parking lot have been blocked off for a construction staging area. Fuel Facility -- Concrete and paving work continues on the new fueling facility to the south of CEP (Central Energy Plant). Gibbon Street remains closed to traffic from west of CEP to 19th Street. Access to CEP is from the north off Harney Street. Please watch for concrete trucks and heavy equipment in the area. The south parking lot may be accessed by traveling east, then south around the building. The construction and street closure will continue until project completion. Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report: Information Technology Facility (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- King Street and Sorority Row will remain open the majority of the time but traffic may be interrupted for construction activity. Work will continue on exterior concrete, irrigation, importing of topsoil, and planting material around the building site. Work on the building will continue on exterior sunshades, masonry cleaning and patching, exterior canopies, window trim and flashing. Work on the second and third floors includes window sills, electrical lighting trim, fire alarm devices, carpet base, restroom fixtures, cleaning and air handler start up. Work continues on aluminum channels, drywall, and painting in east atrium. Work on the first floor, west atrium, and basement includes painting, window sills, countertops, ceiling fixtures, flooring, interior windows, and restroom fixture installation. College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date: Fall 2010) -- At the existing building, metal framing for interior partitions will continue on the third floor. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins on the first and second floors. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Gypsum board installation will continue on level two. Utility rough-ins and preparation of for gypsum board installation will continue on levels three and four. On the exterior, pre-cast panel installation will begin. The glazing of curtain walls and metal panel installation will continue. On the upper two levels of the original building, carpet installation will finish up on the third level and begin on the fourth. Ceiling panels will be installed and the area completed by the end of the week. Most of the site work for this year has been complete. Work on the south and east exit stairs will continue. College of Law, Moot Court Addition and Renovation -- The site excavation and shoring of the existing building foundation will continue. Work on the foundation will include water proofing, rebar cages, caisson drilling, dewatering, and concrete forming and pouring. Truck traffic will be entering and exiting the site. Centennial Complex -- Work for the replacement of the pre-action fire suppression system in the building will continue into November. Staging for the contractor is on the northeast side of the building. The Art Museum galleries will be closed through October. The AHC Reading Room on the fourth floor is now open. UW Police Facility -- The old UniWyo Credit Union on the corner of 15th and Flint will become the new UW Police Facility. Staging for the contractor is in the north parking lot. Interior framing, electrical and plumbing rough-ins continue. Concrete footings and foundation walls for the addition have been poured on the west end of the building. The remainder of the addition slab is scheduled to be poured this week. The contractor will be blocking the south alley at times for utility tie-ins. The construction completion is scheduled for March 2009.
