The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: 15th Street -- The road will be closed from Tuesday through Friday between Lewis and Bradley Streets due to city work at the entrance to Greenhill Cemetery. The Lewis Street intersection will remain open, and traffic will be detoured around the closure. Service Building -- The parking lot north of the Service Building remains closed for resurfacing. Sidewalks will be poured and grading will continue. Bradley Street is closed between 15th and 14th Streets. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Willett Drive Bus Shelter -- All work has been completed, and the bus stop is operational. Anthropology Building -- Work continues on the parking lot extension. Disruption to vehicular traffic will be minimal. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Half Acre Gym -- The crane work is complete. The Day Lot is open, and the infield is usable. The sidewalk on the north side of the building is blocked for a construction staging area. Pedestrian traffic has been rerouted to the wide walkway north of the playground. A temporary partition has been erected toward the west end of the infield to protect the public from possible injury while the construction is ongoing. Project completion is scheduled for Oct. 31. Old Engineering -- The work at the front entrance was delayed and will be rescheduled. Wyoming Hall -- A remodel of the north wing on the fourth floor is in progress. Please use caution around the work area. The job will be complete by the middle of October. Several spaces in the east section of the Wyoming Hall parking lot have been blocked off for a construction staging area. Fuel Facility -- Concrete and paving work continues on the new fueling facility to the south of CEP (Central Energy Plant). Gibbon Street remains closed to traffic from west of CEP to 19th Street. Access to CEP is from the north off Harney Street. Please watch for concrete trucks and heavy equipment in the area. The south parking lot may be accessed by traveling east, then south around the building. The construction and street closure will continue until project completion. Continue on drywall/taping/finishing in east atrium, and continue on punch list work throughout building. Will continue on fire protection device trim throughout building and start pre-action system testing; continue on freight elevator installation; complete penthouse and basement mechanical room plumbing final tie-ins and pre-testing on all equipment; continue setting all plumbing fixtures; continue on all control tie-ins; complete all exterior lighting; continue on final fire alarm terminations and device trim-out throughout; continue to install all security card readers and video surveillance equipment; complete installing bathroom vanity tops/office window sills; and start installing the main reception desk. College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date: Fall 2010) -- At the addition, installation of drilled piers will continue. Form work for tie back beams, part of the foundation system, will begin next week. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins will continue at the addition and focus on the first and second levels. Roof installation on the addition will wrap up. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Go here for a list of the new office locations: www.uwyo.edu/news/showrelease.asp?id=23821 ILLC, Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009) -- Contractor has begun finishing and taping drywall in the lower level and started to install wall board on the main level. Work on the north curtain wall will be a main focus next week and temporary infill at windows missing glazing. The overhang at the front entrance will be roofed. Mechanical, electrical, and metal framing crews will continue rough-in work on the upper two levels. At the third and fourth floors on the original building, final finish and texturing will be done in preparation for paint scheduled for the following week. Work between the Wyoming Union and Coe Library will focus on the transitional area between the asphalt at 13th and the walk way between buildings. Student Health/Cheney International Center (Scheduled completion date: February 2009) -- Work continues on masonry and landscape. Second floor is being prepared for the punch list walk-through. The second floor new restrooms are being completed. The first floor vending area may be closed intermittently for renovation. College of Law, Moot Court Addition and Renovation -- The site excavation and shoring of the existing building foundation will continue. Truck traffic will be entering and exiting the site. Caisson drilling is scheduled to begin Oct. 22. Some of the sidewalk will be removed. Indoor Practice Facility -- Landscape work on the east and north sides of the building along Willett and 22nd streets will be completed this week. Parts of the east and north parking areas will be affected at times. Centennial Complex -- Work to replace the pre-action fire suppression system in the building will continue into November. Staging for the contractor is on the northeast side of the building. The Art Museum galleries will be closed through October. The AHC Reading Room on fourth floor is now open. UW Police Facility -- The old UniWyo Credit Union on the corner of 15th and Flint will become the new UW Police Facility. Staging for the contractor is in the north parking lot. Inside demolition is complete. Interior framing, electrical and plumbing rough-ins have begun. Concrete footings and foundation walls for the addition have been poured on the west end of the building. The contractor will be blocking the south alley at times for utility tie-ins.
