The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: 15th Street -- The following is a summary of traffic control measures on Willett Drive and 15th Street during the 15th Street construction project from Friday, Sept. 19, through Sunday, Sept. 21. Message boards will be displayed with updated information at Willett and 19th and Willett and 15th. Traffic will be significantly impacted throughout the week. Please avoid this area as much as possible. - Friday, 9/19, 6 a.m.-noon: 15th Street will be closed from the Lewis Street intersection to Willett Street for rotomilling. The 15th and Willett Street intersection will remain open. Bus traffic traveling east on Lewis Street will be re-routed through the Wyo Hall Parking lot. - Friday, 9/19, noon: 15th Street will be closed from the Lewis Street intersection to Gibbon Street for rotomilling. - Friday, 9/19, noon through Sunday, 9/21: 15th Street will be closed to travel in both directions from Ivinson Street to Gibbon Street for resurfacing. Road closed and detour signs will be posted at 15th and Gibbon, 15th and Ivinson, and 19th and Willett. Students moving into the Honors House will have access to the south entrance off Fraternity Row. Willett will be closed at the 19th Street intersection except for local traffic. - Monday, 9/22: 15th Street and Willett Street should be open for regular traffic in both directions. Service Building -- The parking lot north of the Service Building will be closed for two more weeks for resurfacing. Fleet vehicles will be moved to the Little League parking lot. Traffic on 15th Street will not be affected. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Little League Bus Shelter -- The shelter has been set and the asphalt has been patched. Willett Drive Bus Shelter -- Concrete and asphalt repairs should be completed by mid-week. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the construction area. Anthropology Building -- The house on the northeast corner of 13th and Bradley has been moved and the lot will be prepared for expansion of the parking lot northeast of the new Anthropology Building. Work should begin in two or three weeks. Half Acre Gym -- The Day Lot will be closed from Oct.1 through Oct. 6 for crane work on the HVAC project. The sidewalk on the north side of the building is blocked for a construction staging area. Pedestrian traffic has been rerouted to the wide walkway north of the playground. A temporary partition has been erected toward the west end of the infield to protect the public from possible injury while the construction is ongoing. The exercise equipment has been reconfigured and is available for normal use during the project. Completion is scheduled for Oct. 31. McWhinnie Hall -- Tile installation in the south entry will be completed next week. Please access the building through the west entrance. Wyoming Hall -- A remodel of the north wing on the fourth floor is in progress. Please use caution around the work area. The job will be complete by the middle of October. Several spaces in the east section of the Wyoming Hall parking lot have been blocked off for a construction staging area. Fuel Facility -- Concrete and paving work continues on the new fueling facility to the south of CEP (Central Energy Plant). Gibbon Street remains closed to traffic from west of CEP to 19th Street. Access to CEP is from the north off Harney Street. Please watch for concrete trucks and heavy equipment in the area. The south parking lot may be accessed by traveling east, then south around the building. The construction and street closure will continue until project completion in October. Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report: Information Technology Facility (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- King Street will remain open the majority of the time but traffic may be interrupted for construction activity. Concrete site work and landscape irrigation will continue. The sidewalk next to the Chi Omega house will be closed and not reopened until the landscaping is complete. The exterior sunshades will be installed on the south and west sides beginning on Monday. The glass installers will be completing detailing, installing exterior aluminum doors, and installing exterior sunshades. Interior work continues throughout. The second and third floors are mostly painted and carpeted. The restrooms are tiled. The cabinetry is in place in most areas. Commissioning of the HVAC and plumbing systems is under way. Check out the webcam at www.uwyo.edu/it_test2/itbldgcam. College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date: Fall 2010) -- Excavation and shoring will continue. The contractor is fabricating the reinforcing steel for the drilled piers when the shoring is completed. Demolition of the interior of the existing building should be completed. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Installation of the gypsum board for the interior partitions will start on the first and second levels. Utility rough-ins will finish up on the first and second levels and continue on the upper two levels. Due to rain and discrepancy in the grades at the alley way between the Union and Coe library, the placement of the concrete was delayed. It will be installed during the week, with opening up the area scheduled for the week of October 6. Installation of light poles along Ivinson and east side of 13th will be in progress during the week. On the third and fourth floors of the original building, gypsum board will be installed on the partition walls. Utility rough-ins will be completed. The second floor materials and ceiling will be completed. The air handler for the basement will be brought on-site by the end of the week. Honors House -- Facility should be completed and occupied except for minor items. Renovations at the Education Annex third floor and general classroom projects -- Punch list items (final items to complete on list after walk through of a project) are scheduled this week. Indoor Practice Facility -- Landscape work on the east side of the building along 22nd Street will continue. Parts of the east parking areas will be affected. Centennial Complex -- Work for the replacement of the pre-action fire suppression system in the building will continue through November. Staging for the contractor is on the northeast side of the building. The Art Museum galleries will be closed through October. The AHC Reading Room on fourth floor is now open. UW Police Facility -- The old UniWyo Credit Union on the corner of 15th andFlint will become the new UW Police Facility. Staging for the contractor is on the north parking lot area. Inside demolition is complete. Concrete footings for the addition has started on the west end of the building and will block the south alley at times.
