Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report for July 20-26 College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date, fall 2010) -- Asbestos abatement will continue in the basement and second level of the existing building. Interior work at the auditorium will begin in preparation of demolishing that portion of the building. Ivinson street will be closed most of the week in order to connect to utilities in the street. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Go here for a list of the new office locations: www.uwyo.edu/news/showrelease.asp?id=23821 ILLC, Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009) --The Disability Support Services Lab and the University Testing Center have been moved to the basement of Knight Hall. The Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning has been moved to the basement of the Engineering Building. Work involving several trades is continuing at the addition. Roofing for the fifth level is scheduled to begin late in the week. Work on 13th street should be completed early in the week and the area reopened. The walk on the east side will be fenced off and work associated with its replacement will begin. Boring under 15th street for the chilled water lines running from the library to Sorority Row will continue during the week. Demolition on the third and fourth levels of the original building will continue during the week. Student Health/Cheney International Center (Scheduled completion date: February 2009) -- Chilled water lines are being installed on the north side of Student Health. Framing will begin for the Cheney International addition and installation of the sprinkler system and electrical continues on the second floor. The elevator is still out of service. Information Technology Facility (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- The chilled water lines being installed at Sorority Row and under 15th Street will be completed this week. The domestic water line installation of King Row started last week and will continue this week. King Row will be closed to thru traffic for the duration of this work. College of Law, Moot Court Addition and Renovation -- Drahota Construction will mobilize and fence the south west area of the building and a portion of the parking lot south of the College of Law building and east of the Fine Arts building. Site preparation and demolition could begin this week. General Classroom Renovations, Phase 1 (Scheduled completion date: Aug. 25, 2008) -- Classrooms to be renovated this summer include: AG 1030 and 1032, RH 442, EN 1055, 3015, 3106, 2100, and 2102. Electrical installation will continue this week. Staging area will take up two spaces behind the Agriculture Building. Knight Hall Basement Renovations (Scheduled completion date: July 25, 2008) --Basement restroom ongoing with plumbing. Staging area will take up one space in the Knight Hall alleyway. Accessible individual and group meeting spaces have been identified on the first floor of Knight Hall to accommodate individuals who cannot access the basement programs. Contact the required department within the building to make arrangements for alternative access or contact University Disability Support Services for assistance (766-6189, TTY: 766-3073). Indoor Practice Facility -- Landscape work on the west, north and south sides of the building will continue into August. Staging for the landscape contractor is on the southwest side of the parking lot. Centennial Complex -- Work for the replacement of the pre-action fire suppression system in the building will continue through October. Staging for the contractor is on the northeast side of the building. The Art Museum galleries will be closed through September and the AHC Reading Room on fourth floor will be closed through the middle of August. From Aug. 4 through Aug. 15 the Reading Room will be open and temporarily located in the second floor Stock Growers Room. Honors House -- The Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 15th and Willett Drive is being converted to a home for students in the Honors Program. Doors and trim will start on the upper two levels. Tile for the toilets is schedule to start on Monday. The elevator is scheduled to be completed early in the week. Installation of gypsum board and finishes will continue on the lower two levels. Old Main Window Replacement (Scheduled completion date: Aug. 31, 2008) -- Windows to be replaced on the first floor. Pedestrian traffic will be restricted on the sidewalk on the southeast corner of the building. The staging area is on the northeast side of the building. The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: Campus Parking Lot Striping -- Striping of parking lots will begin next week and continue for the next few weeks. This is the schedule for next week: July 21: Cooper House, lot closed; Field House South, lot closed, Health Sciences South, lot closed on south side only; Day Lot, arrows only, lot open. July 22: Fine Arts north, lot closed; 10th and Lewis, lot closed; Beta House north, lot closed on north side of building and by basketball court. July 23: Animal Science, lot closed, parking in gravel lot only; Hoyt Loop, lot closed. July 24t: Painting of handicap spots in all of the above locations; lots will be open, handicap spots will be blocked. Half Acre Gym -- Two sections of concrete walkway will be replaced near the northwest corner of Half Acre early in the week. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be re-routed. Beta House -- Carpet removal and asbestos abatement will be ongoing in the Beta House for the next few weeks. Work on the main floor will continue through July 20. The main entrance to the building is closed, and access to the building is from the north. This will affect handicap access. Please contact a department in the building to make arrangements for appointments or information needs, or call Disability Support Services at 766-6189. Other floors in the building will follow and work will likely continue for 6-8 weeks. Asbestos abatement work will be done in the evenings and on weekends. Fine Arts -- A small section of the Law School parking lot west of Fine Arts will be blocked of for one week for work on the irrigation well house. College of Engineering -- The east passenger elevator is offline for renovation. This project is expected to complete August 5th 2008. Please use the west elevator during this time. Concrete will be replaced in front of both entrances on the south side of Engineering starting mid-week. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around work areas. College of Agriculture -- The east passenger elevator will is offline for renovation. This project is expected to complete August 5th 2008. Please use the west elevator during this time. Prexy's Pasture --Concrete replacement on walkways will continue at the west end of Prexy's and should be completed by mid-week. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around work areas. The third art installation is in progress on the northeast corner of Prexy's. Pedestrian flow may be affected in that area. Geological Survey -- The concrete walkway leading to the front entrance will be replaced late in the week. Pedestrian traffic will be re-routed around the work area. McIntyre/Orr Hall -- The parking lot will be re-surfaced starting on July 24th. Vehicular traffic will be re-routed. Student Health -- The elevator is out of service until approximately August 5th . The majority of the building is offline due to the Cheney International Center construction. The east entrance is open for the remaining offices within the building. Call the Service Desk for information for deliveries of large items.
