Facilities Planning Project Managers' Report for June 15-21 College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date, fall 2010) -- The Union parking lot and the College of Business parking lot are closed. A pedestrian walk way will be created along the north side of the staging areas. The east side of the Union lot will be used for the shuttle bus traffic. The north side of the lot will have reserved parking for vehicles associated with the Union operations and some metered parking. Parking for the disabled will remain near the north side of the Union. Asbestos abatement is taking place within the building and will continue until the end of the month. Contractor doing miscellaneous work around the staging area. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Go here for a list of the new office locations: www.uwyo.edu/news/showrelease.asp?id=23821 ILLC, Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009) -- 13th Street remains closed and the contractor will be relocating a vault housing a water meter, bringing the street up to grade. Landscaping work to begin. Work continues on the addition with a series of concrete placement for the various floor level, masonry at the elevator shaft, utility rough-ins, fire-protecting beams, metal framing, and sheathing. Contractor will begin demolition work on the third and fourth levels of the original building. The Disability Support Services Lab and the University Testing Center have been moved to the basement of Knight Hall. The Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning (ECTL) has been moved to the basement of the Engineering Building. Student Health/Cheney International Center (Scheduled completion date: February 2009) -- Work continues on the addition foundation and site work. The second floor mechanical is being installed. The elevator is out of service and will be under repair for the next several weeks. Staging area will take up four spaces in the Hoyt Hall parking lot. Information Technology Facility (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- Excavation for the water line will begin this week. It will affect traffic on King Street this week through July 1. Underground work on the chilled waterlines at Sorority Row continues this week. Thru traffic is restricted in this area for several more weeks. The roof is scheduled to be 100 percent complete by June 25. Masonry, glass and fire protection and duct work continues. Check out the webcam at www.uwyo.edu/it_test2/itbldgcam Education Annex Third Floor Renovations (Scheduled completion date: July 25, 2008) Construction ongoing with First floor HVAC rooms 151, 152, 154, 155 and 158 relocated to the second floor. Staging area will take up three spaces in the education parking lot. General Classroom Renovations -- Phase 1 (Scheduled completion date: Aug. 25, 2008) Classrooms to be renovated this summer include: AG 1030 and 1032, RH 442, EN 1055, 3015, 3106, 2100 and 2102. Demolition will continue this week. Staging area will take up two spaces behind the Agriculture building. Indoor Practice Facility -- Landscape work on the west side of the building will continue into June. Staging for the landscape contractor is on the southwest side of the parking lot. Exterior and interior building metal work will continue through June 15. Pedestrian traffic around the building will be closed at different times. Insulation placement will start Monday, June 16 with a lift on the inside of the field. Honors House -- The Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 15th and Willett Drive is being converted to a home for students in the Honors Program. Interior dry wall and trim work will continue. The foundation drainage system will begin on the exterior. The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: Half Acre Gym -- The roof over the infield area is complete, and the fenced construction area has been removed. The air conditioning work will not start for a couple more weeks. College of Engineering -- The east passenger elevator will be offline until early July. Please use the west elevator during this time. Bureau of Mines Building -- The elevator will be offline until the emergency phone is installed, which should be completed this week. Patrons are asked to use the stairs for access to upper floors. Coordination of deliveries is being handled by WRI administration and the Physical Plant project manager. Call the Service Desk for information on deliveries of large items. For persons with disability access needs, contact the required department within the building to make arrangements to accommodate the need. Also, call the University Disabilities Support Services office. Prexy's Pasture -- The second art installation is in progress on the east end of Prexy's. Pedestrian flow may be affected in that area. Student Health -- The elevator is out of service for 6-8 weeks. The majority of the building is offline due to the Cheney International Center construction. The east entrance is open for the remaining offices within the building. Call the Service Desk for information for deliveries of large items. For persons with disability access needs, contact the required department within the building to make arrangements to accommodate the need. Also, call the University Disabilities Support Services office. Student Union -- The water will be shut off in the Union Tuesday June 17 from 1-5 pm for maintenance.
