College of Business Expansion and Renovation (Scheduled Completion Date, fall 2010) -- The contractor will begin mobilizing on site. The Union parking lot will be closed. Asbestos abatement will begin inside the building. Faculty and staff in the UW College of Business have relocated to Crane Hall because of the renovation project. Go here for a list of the new office locations: www.uwyo.edu/news/showrelease.asp?id=23821 ILLC, Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009) -- Nothing major with the addition, utility rough-ins, exterior wall framing, masonry at elevator shaft, and concrete for floor slabs. 13th street will be closed for approximately eight weeks, curb and gutter is being installed. The alley between Knight and Ross halls has two-way traffic. The 5th and 6th levels of the 70s addition are completed and the contractor is picking up miscellaneous items. Education Annex Third Floor Renovations (Scheduled completion date: July 25, 2008) -- Knight Hall Basement Renovations (Scheduled completion date: May 30) Student Health/Cheney International Center (Scheduled completion date: February 2009) -- The foundation and standing walls will be poured for the addition. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins will be done for the existing second floor. Information Technology Facility (Scheduled completion date: December 2008) -- Site work: The chilled water lines work will continue to affect access to Fraternity Row and Sorority Row. Drywall and light gauge metal framing: Drywall installation continues in some areas on the 1st floor; brick and stone work will continue on the south side; roofing is almost complete; plumbing, HVAC, electrical work and framing installation for glass continues. Indoor Practice Facility -- Landscape work on the west side of the building will continue into June. Staging for the landscape contractor is on the southwest side of the parking lot. Asphalt patching on the northeast side of RAC is scheduled for the week of June 2 Exterior building metal work will start on the south side Monday June 9. Pedestrian traffic along the south sidewalk will be closed along with parking on the south side. Honors House -- The Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 15th and Willett Drive is being converted to a home for students in the Honors Program. Gypsum wall board is being installed on the interior of the original structure. Sewer line installation south to the street will begin. The UW Physical Plant reports the following activities scheduled for the week: Half Acre Gym -- The roof of the infield area is being replaced and an air conditioning unit will be installed. A fenced construction area with a pedestrian walkway has been set up on the east side of the building. Indoor air temperature may be affected as construction activities continue. Work will continue for a couple more weeks. College of Engineering -- The east passenger elevator will be offline until early July. Please use the west elevator during this time. Bureau of Mines Building -- The elevator will remain offline for about one more week. Patrons are asked to use the stairs for access to upper floors. Coordination of deliveries is being handled by WRI administration and the Physical Plant project manager. Call the Service Desk for information on deliveries of large items. For persons with disability access needs, contact the required department within the building to make arrangements to accommodate the need and take care of necessary business. Alternatively, contact may be made with the University Disabilities Support Services office. Prexy's Pasture -- The next artist installation will begin June 10. Student Health -- Work will begin on the elevator next week and continue for 6-8 weeks. The majority of the building is offline due to the Cheney International Center construction. The east entrance is open for the remaining offices within the building. Call the Service Desk for information on deliveries of large items. Alternatively, contact may be made with the University Disabilities Support Services office. Fine Arts -- The south stairwell will be closed next week for asbestos abatement.
