Facilities Planning project managers' report for week of Dec. 9-15.
ILLC -- Information Library and Learning Center (Scheduled completion date: September 2009)
Excavation and installation of shoring along the south side of the excavated area.
Storm sewer installation between Coe Library and the Wyoming Union.
Rough in for electrical distribution panels in the 1970s addition.
Wrap up of sidewalk and curb installation on west side of 13th street.
The east side of 13th street has been restored to original configuration except for the area between the Union and Coe. This area will be inaccessible for another week. The contractor is schedule to complete the side walk and new curb and gutter on the west side of 13th mid week.
Information Technology Facility (Scheduled completion date: December 2008)
The foundation and basement are nearly complete. The big blue crane will be on-site through the completion of steel erection. Large truck traffic for steel delivery and concrete will continue through the duration of steel erection and be may be heavier on some days.
UW Plaza (Hotel and Conference Center)
The overall site work is complete with the exception of some landscaping. The new stoplight at 24th and Grand is scheduled for completion early in 2008. The signs on the site are scheduled to be completed in January. The Hotel and Conference Center is scheduled to open in February.
Indoor Practice Facility
The landscaping and site work will not be completed because of the onset of cold weather and lack of an irrigation system to support the landscaping this fall. Much detail-related work remains.
Honors House
The Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 15th and Willett is being converted to a home for students in the Honors Program. The project is scheduled to be substantially complete mid July of 2008. Construction will start Dec. 10. There will be no parking along Willett directly behind the facility because that area will be part of the contractor's staging area.
Hoyt Hall Window Replacement
Replacement of Hoyt Hall windows will require minor painting in the building through Dec. 18. The staging area is in the south four parking spots of the Hoyt Hall parking lot. Anticipated completion of the Hoyt Hall window replacement is Dec. 18.
Knight Hall Window Replacement
Replacement of Knight Hall windows will cause minor sidewalk closures around the building Dec. 20th through Feb. 1. The staging area is in the south four parking spots of the Hoyt Hall parking lot. Anticipated completion of the Knight Hall window replacement is Feb. 15.
Education Annex Third Floor Renovations (Scheduled completion date: July 2008)
Construction will begin in early January. Staging area will take up three spaces in the College of Education parking lot.
