Every fee-paying student is a member of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming. So, ASUW student government acts as the voice of the students. We urge every student to GET INVOLVED, whether it be in student government or in any number of other student organizations.
ASUW is composed of the basic three-branch governing system, is composed of executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
The executive branch is made up of the ASUW president and executive assistants. The duty of the president and executives is to promote and pursue the objectives of ASUW. They work with the UW Board of Trustees, university officials and local and state governments.
The legislative branch consists of the (ASUW Senate) consists of the ASUW vice president and elected senators from the respective colleges. Senators also serve on ASUW standing committees as well as university committees. Most of the work in ASUW is accomplished through the work of the committees.
The judicial branch, or the Judicial Council, consists of ASUW justices. Their jurisdiction from the ASUW Constitution extends to official actions by student overnment and to ASUW working documents.
