The College Assessment Coordinators

The College Assessment Coordinators Committee is the coordinating committee for the University of Wyoming's assessment of student learning efforts. The committee is led by the University Assessment Specialist and membership consists of representatives from the seven colleges in addition to representatives from Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the Outreach School, and Office of Institutional Analysis. The committee meets twice a month during the academic year. The committee is responsible for the following assessment related activities:

  • Developing plans and strategies for implementing university-wide assessment efforts
  • Deciding which institution-wide assessment tools to use and which studies/surveys to participate in
  • Assisting the ECTL with planning the annual Fall Forum on Learning and Assessment
  • Administering the Assessment Project Support Funding program
  • Reviewing the assessment of student learning section of departmental annual reports and providing feedback to departments on their assessment efforts and progress from the previous year
  • Assist with the production of the Assessment of Student Learning newsletter

The University Assessment Specialist

The University Assessment Specialist provides leadership for the University of Wyoming’s assessment of student learning programs. The University Assessment Specialist is responsible for the following assessment related activities:

  • Leading and coordinating the College Assessment Coordinators Committee

  • Providing assistance to University Studies Program (USP) Committee regarding the assessment of the USP program

  • Coordinating and managingthe University’s participation in the nationwide longitudinal Collegiate Learning Assessment Study

  • Administering the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) and Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE)

  • Creating and maintaining the Assessment of Student Learning website and newsletter

Using UW's Assessment of Student Learning Website

The University Assessment Specialist, working along side Academic Affairs and the University Assessment Coordinators, created this website and many of its materials. The website aims to be simple and straightforward. The primary goals of the website are the following:

  • Provide tools and resources to assist department heads/chairs and faculty in developing and implementing their assessment plans as part of the Academic Planning process
  • Provide information about University of Wyoming's assessment of student learning efforts to external constituencies including policy makers, parents, and students

You will find a variety of information that is up-to-date and relevant to the wide range of assessment activities occurring at UW. Please take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the information contained in the quick links and buttons on the main page.
