The National Survey of Student Engagement

The University of Wyoming has participated in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) since 2000. UW has conducted the NSSE in 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2009. We also conducted the accompanying Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) in 2005 and 2009.

UW is committed to ongoing assessment of student learning processes and the NSSE administration is a key component of our efforts at the institutional level. In an effort to become more transparent about our results, we are pleased to join USA Today's project to publicize NSSE benchmark results for post-secondary institutions nationwide. USA Today provided some background on the five NSSE benchmarks for its readers on their Web site. In addition, UW would like to take this opportunity to describe more fully our NSSE results and provide further information for parents and students regarding key programs related to these indicators.
