As the parent or guardian of a currently enrolled UW student, you are
automatically a member of the Associated Parents of the University of
Wyoming (APUW), all you need to do is fill out the active membership
form which can be found on our web site.
APUW is your voice and connection to UW. Founded in 1991, APUW was established to recognize the essential role parents play in the success of their student. Studies show that parental support, counsel, and interventions are key to collegiate student achievement.
APUW's programs and efforts are designed to assist parents in supporting their university student and to enhance the learning environment at UW. APUW's primary goals are:
Active members work as partners with UW
staff and administrators to enhance student success. APUW also functions
as an advisory organization to university bodies desiring parental
input. Members also serve as university ambassadors and as consultants
for the families of prospective students.
Please see the navigation bars above and at right for further
information on the many projects and events APUW sponsors for UW parents
and students, such as the toll-free Parents’ Hotline, the Student
Emergency Fund, and valuable publications, including the Handbook
for Parents, Wyoming Family newsletter, and For Parents Only newsletter.
No tuition, fees, or state monies are used to support APUW’s activities
and programs; they are funded entirely by the parents of UW students. We
encourage you to take advantage of APUW services and to become actively
involved in your organization!
