Undergraduate Degree ProgramsWe offer a B.A. with a major in anthropology and a minor in general anthropology; the BA covers the four subfields of anthropology. • Undergraduate Major (34 hours)
Undergraduate Major Course RequirementsWe require all Anthropology majors to take a series of core classes beginning with the introductory sequence, which includes introductory courses in all four fields of anthropology (ANTH 1100, 1200, 1300, 2000). Majors also must complete at least one upper division course in each of the four subfields as listed below. Five additional requirements include four core courses and three semesters of a single foreign language: (1) Introduction to Anthropology Research Methods (ANTH 3300) The Anthropology Department offers a large suite of additional electives that undergrads can choose to take if they desire to further than anthropological education. See the course offerings in the General Bulletin for a complete listing. ** For an anthropology course to count toward your major requirements, you must pass the course with a grade of C or better.** Section 0: Introductory Sequence (Recommended but not required)
