The Department of Anthropology at the University of Wyoming came into existence as an undergraduate degree granting department in 1967. The first graduate thesis was completed in 1971 (Mack 1971). In the past thirty five years, Anthropology graduate students have written over 100 theses. This bibliography compiles the tremendous contribution to Wyoming anthropology made by the graduate students in Anthropology at the University of Wyoming. Thesis topics cover all four subfields of anthropology: sociocultural, linguistics, physical, and archaeology. For information on the Anthropology graduate program, click here.
This index is an alphabetical bibliography of graduate theses in Anthropology
and is current to the fall of 2003. Most of the theses are available from
Coe Library on the University of Wyoming campus. They have been moved from
the second floor to the west basement area. Back to the Anthropology Department Home Page
At the end of each thesis title is a letter in parentheses indicating which sub field is primarily emphasized in the paper. A= Archaeology, C= Cultural, and L= Linguistic Anthropology, P= Physical. If you wish to view Anthropology theses by sub-discipline, click on the links to each subject in the previous sentence.
