Dr. Poyer has conducted ethnographic fieldwork in Micronesia (working on the Marshall Islands, Pohnpei, Sapwuahfik, Truk [Chuuk], and Yap), in Madagascar, and on the Navajo Reservation. At the University of Wyoming, she teaches Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology of Religion, and Social Organization.
